What is a Vanilmirth?

Vanilmirth is one or the four Homunculi available for the Alchemist and Biochemist who have completed the Bioethics Quest.

The Vanilmirth has the highest stat growth compared to the other three Homunculi: Amistr, Filir, and Lif. It is capable of using magical attacks such as Caprice and healing skills such as Chaotic Blessings although both skills have random effects. It has the passive skill which raises Str and Int: Instruction Change. Once the Vanilmirth has evolved and become loyal, it shall be able to learn Self-Destruction: a suicide attack that deals massive splash damage at the cost of all the intimacy it had. Vanilmirths need Scell for consumption.

Instruction Change is one of the many bugs in RO and after one levels or one teleports on map the skill does not give you the +4 STR.

Vanilmirth's Appearances

Like all Homunculi, Vanilmirth is obtainable in two styles, in this case visually resembling a gelatinous form: it either looks like a brownish/pinkish jelly with a ball with a face inside or a purplish slime with two eyes as antenna at the top. Outside an aesthetic sense, there is ultimately no difference between the "Jelly Vanilmirth" and the "Slime Vanilmirth", as they possess the same pool of skills and general stat growth. Transforming Vanilmirth from its adolescent appearance into a mature form requires a Stone of Sage when it possesses loyal disposition towards its creator.

Is the Vanilmirth good in PvP?

The Vanilmirth are of Formless species and Neutral element. To reduce the damage from it other than through DEF and MDEF, one must equip a shield with a Penomena Card socketed into it. A Beholder weapon, Pecopeco Egg Carded, may be used to deal additional damage to the Vanilmirth.

Penomena Cards are not easily obtained which makes Vanilmirth one of the more deadly Homunculus in PvP and WoE. Their MATK, flee, DEF, and MDEF provide for a good overall fighter not just in PvP but also in PvM.
