Exp Rewards

I checked the character select screen and was at 1,634,304 on my 87 biochemist before talking to the final npc to collect the reward. The character was at 2,884,304 after talking to the npc. The difference is exactly 1.25m. Whereas the reported 1,237,500 exp happens to be exactly 99% of 1.25m, are you sure you weren't on 1% tax?
