Naming Conventions

Places

Continent: Rune-Midgard Kingdom: Rune-Midgarts Kingdom: Republic of Schwartzvald

Classes

Class names should be the same as those used on the International version of Ragnarok. kRO names, while useful to add as a note in the appropriate article, are not to be used when linking or discussing a certain class in another article. The class names should be precisely those that exist in the game, regardless of what the spelling may be.

Skills

Likewise, skill names should be those used on the International version, not those used in any other version. Other spellings for the same skill may be noted in the respective article, but not used when linking or discussing that skill. Similarly, the skill names should mimic their game counterparts.

Monster Exclusive Skills

Monster Exclusive Skills do not have any name which is generally observable to players. Therefore, articles about them should be named in the NPC_SKILLNAME format. An example of this is NPC_DARKTHUNDER.

Coordinates

  • Towns: The first time a town is used in an article, link to it, i.e. [[Prontera]]. After that, leave it capitalized but with no link.
  • Map by Itself: Use the Map Template when talking about a map, i.e. {{map |id=cmd_fild01 Comodo Field}}. For town maps, refer to the above line.
  • Map with Coordinates: Use the Map Template when talking about a map with coordinates, in the following format: ({{map |id=mapid mapid}} xx,yy). For town maps, do not use the map template, simply give the map id.
  • Coordinates on a Previously Mentioned Map: Use (xx,yy).

Linking

As iRO Wiki is NOT a database, do not create separate pages for a monster, map, or item unless there is sufficient information which can be put together in the form of a wiki article. In general, use one of the linking templates to link to an appropriate database for that monster/map/item.

Items

  • Slotted Gears: If an item has a slotted counterpart, use [0], [1], [2], etc.. If the item has no slotted counterpart, you may leave the slot value out. If a future version of an item is to be implemented (as part of an official update) that has a different slot value from the original, the slot value should be used, if known.

To include a slot value in the {{item}} template, use the code: <nowiki>[1]</nowiki> around the slot value.

Item Pages

Equipment

Equipment page (for example, Shields) exist merely to be quick comparison charts of the items of a particular type and should include the following information about the items:

  • Whether they may possess slots
  • Whether they are upgradeable
  • An image of the item
  • Basic defense property of the item
  • Weight of the item
  • Required level to equip the item
  • The item description
  • If the item is part of an equipment set, the names of the other items in the set and the effects of equipping the entire set should be in italics as part of the item description
  • What classes may equip the item

Any additional data (such as how the items may be acquired) is beyond the scope of the wiki and should not be included.
