Evolve Homunculus into an S-type
|
- In the Geneticist guild in Lighthalzen, (lighthalzen 53, 132) speak with Viorel, (job3_gen01 12, 44). Agree to visit Viorel's home.
- You will be teleported to Viorel's house. Talk to him again, and explore Homunculus Mutation System. He will send you to Jeyna.
- Talk to Jeyna; she will ask you to check the Magic Board behind her. This will give brief explanation of the Homunculus S.
- Talk to Jeyna again. If you agreed to proceed, she will transform your Homunculus back to a Strange Embryo. Talk to her again and she will send you to Viorel.
- Talk to Viorel. He will give you and option to pay 50,000 zeny for a stabilize mutation, or not pay at all but receive unstable mutation.
- Choose to pay in order to choose the Homunculus S that you like. He will then transform the embryo to your chosen Homunculus S. Talk to him again to leave the place.
Types of Homunculus-S
There are 5 types of Homunculi-S with various attributes unique to each. Skills are listed in the order they are unlocked by that type.
Reviewing the Homunculus S Choices
It has been extensively debated on what the exact uses for each Homunculus S are, which Homunculus S are the best to raise, and which is the best chombination of Homunculus into Homunculus S. The answer is simple and yet not. A player should choose his Homunculus/S based on what he plans on doing with his Geneticist down the line. This section will serve as a guide for those lost and confused alchemist/bio/newly changed gens out there that are looking for the answers.
Here is a list of the basic Homunculus and what their purposes serve towards a Geneticists Homunculus S
Warning: Homunculus spells will cause homunculus S to freeze for a few seconds if hit while casting in early levels. Players may wish to disable them until the problem balances itself as the Homunculus levels.(it will go away eventually)
- Filir - has a massive damage attack, a temporary damage boosting spell, and a high attack speed that will help your Homunculus S level fast (which is extremely helpful because you want access to their abilities as soon as possible for doing whatever it is you plan on doing later). Filir is by far the best choice for people that want a fast leveling Homunculus S. Leveling a Filir can be annoying due to his nonexistent defense, low healthpool, and poor flee rate in Renewals mechanics, but the reward at the end of the tunnel is more then worth it due to his sheer attack power. Best combination: Sera
- Vanilmirth - has excellent defense and a ranged attack that is extremely useful for pulling mobs from a distance to buy yourself time to get a Cart Cannon cast off without getting hit. The only downside is that the ranged attack casts a variable element, which can mean that it does either little to no damage against certain mobs, which makes vanils skills more for just pulling then killing. This is the ONLY option of homunculus to use if you plan on turning your Genetic into a potion maker, since he provides a buff that increases chance of success significantly.
- Amistr - Amistr is by far the best homunculus to raise if youre looking to turn your Homunculus S into a tank for solo PVM or to AFK for endless hours. Out of all the homunculus, him and Filir provide the most carry over spells for Homunculus S to use (as well as the most useful). He also makes an ok puller in TIs due to his survivability and provides his owner with a semidecent Vitality buff. He is complete nightmare to level up though due to his lack of attack spell, but has a pretty cool life leeching ultimate attack that can keep him up longer and the ability to switch his owner out of a dangerous situation.
- Lif - What can i say about poor Lif. Currently her spells dont work properly, she has no attack spells, her defense is poor. her heal spell requires you to keep red slim pots on you at all times (which can still be somewhat useful), her movement speed buff becomes obsolete as a homunculus S because you already have a movement speed buff (Cart Boost) that you will be keeping up at all times for more damage. Definitely not recommended as a carry over to Homunculus S unless youre really attached to her heal spell.
What do you plan on doing with your geneticist? Are you just looking to simply level and have fun playing in PVM? Will you be MVPing? or maybe youre looking to kick some butt in PVP/WoE.
- Beyeri (PVM) - A tanky beast with attitude, Beyeri safety walls his owner and provides holy AoE damage. His biggest weakness though is that his AoE is interruptable, which makes him an unpopular choice of homunculus amongst most Genetics. His spells, when not interrupted, can be useful for leveling, but not so useful for much else. Although his knockback could be useful for PvP, there are much better options you could go with.
- Dieter (PVM/WoE/MVP) - The most popular of the homunculus, Dieter provides its owner with a significant damage boost as well as aoe damage against mobs. Dieter is very tanky, which combined with his awesome aoe ability, makes him possibly the best homunculus to AFK with. Dieter excels at PVM and MVP, which is why he is a favorite amongst the Genetic community. He was once strong suited for WoE (not so much pvp though) but recently received a nerf that now makes him no longer the ideal choice. Best if bred from Vanil or Amistr.
- Eira (PVM/PVP/MVP) - Being one of the underdog homunculus that doesnt get as much attention, Eira should by no means be ignored. She will provide her owner with ungodly amounts of flee temporarilly (+500 flee at max level) which can mean the difference between life and death in a dire situation. And speaking of death, Eiras got your back! With her Light of Regen player resurrection spell, she'll bring you back from the dead so that you can avoid having to take that embarrassing trip back to town. In other term, Eira is the fastest loyalty farm homunculus ever due to how Overboost can make Eira hungry really fast. Some of Eira's skills also need certain loyalty levels, so it's best to breed it from homunculus that has "loyalty consuming skills" like Vanil/Filir.
- Eleanor (PVM/PVP) - Eleanor, probably one of the least loved homunculus, brings the damage but not much else. This kungfu ninja monk like cat lady will brutally beat the crap out of any target in site, chaining together combo attacks that do decent damage. Not really the best as far as support though which makes her one of the least used homunculus. May have a place in pvp, but then again, some of the other homuncunulus spells will prove more useful. She has no AOE attacks which makes her fairly useless in PVM accept for picking off single targets. Mostly just played for aesthetics though. Best if bred from a Filir
- Sera (PVM/PVP/WoE/MVP) - The ultimate MVP/PVM/PVP homunculus, this crazy bee provides its owner with an invincibility buff that buys the owner a window of opportunity to kill an mvp (or another player) without being barraged with heavy damage. Very useful for solo pvm as well due to its AoE and paralyze attacks. Breeding from Filir compliments Sera immensely in pvm. Vanil is also a good choice.
