Description

Strikes a single opponent with a spear. Deals multiple strikes depending on the enemy's size: 1 hit on Small foes, 2 hits on Medium foes, 3 hits on Large foes (players are Medium, except for babies, who are Small). A small accuracy bonus is also added; this is added to the hit rate after it is calculated from the player's Hit and the target's Flee.

Applications

Knights who use Spears use Pierce as the main single-target damage skill. As a result, many Knights prefer to hunt larger-sized opponents to leverage this advantage. Pierce has a larger damage modifier than Bash for large targets. However, Bash has the added ability to Stun, which may be useful for high Flee opponents. For small opponents, Bash or Bowling Bash may be more suitable.

Notes

• The accuracy bonus is added after the hit rate is determined. If a player would usually hit a monster for 50% of attacks, using level 10 Pierce raises that rate to 75%.
