Occult Impaction (Alt: Investigate) is a 2nd class offensive skill available as Monk and Champion.

Effect

Strikes inside a single target with a psychic impact to inflict piercing physical damage in proportion with the target's defense. This skill ignores the accuracy check and each cast uses a Spirit Sphere. Damage is increased by 50% when used against target that user caught with Root.

Damage = [ATK + (Target_Hard_DEF ÷ 2)] × Base_Damage
Half of the target's hard defense is added to the user's ATK before it is multiplied by this skill.

Notes

  • The damage is Pseudo-elemental.
  • The Cast Time cannot be interrupted.
  • The damage is still affected by cards and other relative modifiers.
  • If the enemy's total defense is 0 or less, this skill will miss.
  • The special effect of Ice Pick does not work with this skill for Rogue classes who copied this skill via Intimidate.
  • Mastery ATK is excluded from skill damage calculation.

Applications

  • Using Summon Spirit Sphere or performing any other action immediately after using this skill will cancel the animation delay. Doing this before using this skill again is actually faster than repeatedly using this skill (and not bypassing the delay) when the user's DEX is above 115 and no Magic Strings are present.
