Overview
Mastersmith is the pinnacle of the Blacksmith's career. The Mastersmith is able to create valuable items from any material they can get hold of. Plus, they have achieved the zenith of craftsmanship and can now upgrade weapons more efficiently. The Mastersmith also specializes in manipulating fire and using various weapons in battle.
The Mastersmith skill base grows upon the Blacksmith's Axe/Mace skills and received a lot of nice new skills. Although the class almost seems to be ignored by Gravity, or almost lowered in power compared to the other Reborn classes, Smiths still pose a dangerous threat to almost every class. They have the power to break Weapons and Armor while they're attacking their enemy with Shattering Strike (Meltdown) and then unleash a flurry of High Speed Cart Rams (Cart Termination). This class takes a lot of customization in order to make work properly and takes a lot of time and effort to play one well.
Being a class with high damage per second rating, Mastersmiths gained boosts in their skills that exploit their ASPD. One is the Shattering Strike skill that perpetuates use for their skill Weapon Repair due to the chance of it breaking a target's weapon or armor. Another noteworthy skill, HSCR(although over shadowed by their co-class' Acid Bomb as their new skill) is known to make characters with low VIT run for their lives. HSCR is another skill that benefits from ASPD.
Another note is that the Mastersmiths with their new skills drains more zeny than their non-rebirth counterpart.
Job Change Guide
To become a Mastersmith, you must find a book called 'the Book of Ymir' in 'Sage Castle',
Juno. The book will lead you to Valhalla so you can change your job through the Mastersmith job
NPC. Also you must reach at least job level 40 as a transcendent 1st class character.

2.'Book of Ymir' is located inside a room behind an NPC called Metheus Sylphe (yuno_in02 88,164).

| 3.The Book of Ymir (yuno_in02 94,206) will teleport you to Valhalla. |

Builds
High Speed Critter
- STR: 70
- AGI: 81 or 89 (1 ASPD difference)
- VIT: 40-50
- INT: 1-20 (for HSCR spam)
- DEX: 50-70
- LUK: 40
This is the highest dmg output possible for this class. This build offers insane fast attackspeed with high dmg crits. Using all of your new buffs, the player should be hitting 1000+ dmg crits per second and have a HSCR so fast that nothing in your path will last long. With your new gear options thanks to rebirth, you should be able to obtain a ton of extra flee through the Dragon Manteau/Vest set + Whisper and Alicel cards. A bloodied shackle accessory + shackle shoes combination is ideal for pumping out extra damage with this build. Otherwise, the Kobold Bradium brooch combo is ideal.
Players using this build may need to reset their skills upon job change to mechanic
This build is highly useful for the mastersmith class, but players wishing to follow madomechanic or pure axe-mechanic builds will need to eventually spec out of this build later on. This build is however useful for HSCR build mechanics (although it will require more vit and str later on), as HSCR is reliant on AGI for faster cast
Hybrid Tanksmith
- STR: 72
- AGI: 50
- VIT: 94 (with job bonus will hit 100 for natural resists)
- INT: 1
- DEX: 50-70 (if you want more dex then lower vit)
- LUK: 1
Weapons: Maces, Axes
This build is meant for those that dont want to deal with the hastle of poor flee rate, and would rather focus on AoEing mobs with cart revolution. This build also allows the blacksmith to play tank/puller for parties, which can be helpful for those last few levels. With berserk potions and adrenaline rush, the player will still have a nice enough ASPD to keep from going insane (thus the 50 agi). This build wont come close to the damage output of the highspeed critter, but is a very efficient leveling build that utilizes the smiths decent hp pool and defensive capabilities (racial 5% neutral reduction)
