Overview
Often overlooked by many, the Maestro class brings a strong support game to the table. Ideal, and almost mandatory, for any guild ET run or even just a standard dungeon run as well as for WoE play. Unfortunately this class seems to be one of Gravitys least favorites, as it has suffered horrendous nerfs throughout the years that have crippled it from being able to solo level and have pidgeonholed it into being a 1 trick pony of sorts, limiting players to primarily using only 1 skill for the majority of their play, and not being wanted for much else. Don't let this frighten you from playing the class though. While yes, they are party dependent, the support they provide will be wanted by many and will bring satisfaction to those looking for a quality support class that can make a difference in aiding their friends/guildies.
Job Change Guide
See Maestro Job Change Guide for detailed information.
Changing into a Maestro from a
Bard or
Minstrel requires the player to track down the legendary 'Minstrel Song' across the world of Rune Midgard. After finding him, the player will be transformed into a Maestro. The journey begins near the Alberta docks!
Builds
Severe Rainstorm / Support Build
- STR:1
- AGI: 60-100
- VIT: 95+
- INT: 92+
- DEX: 100+
- LUK:1-50
This is a build that can dish out damage with Severe Rainstorm while also being able to support with skills like Magic Strings and Windmill Rush. Severe Rainstorm is weaker now after the balance patch but is still capable of some decent damage with good equipment. Full Support builds are also possible for endgame purposes but supporting during the leveling phase does not require too much in terms of stats and skills. It is convenient and flexible to be able to both support or do damage, depending on the party members or the size of the party. High DEX (100-110) is a must for good Severe Rainstorm damage, as well as high AGI (90-100). LUK also adds some ATK so a small amount of it is useful as well. Severe Rainstorm has a high SP cost so INT will help a lot, and INT is also necessary for SP upkeep and stat bonuses when supporting with songs like Magic Strings. Generally, Arrow Vulcan is not used if the Maestro has Severe Rainstorm so the skill points for that can be used elsewhere (or reset skills once turning Maestro). Windmill Rush is a useful support skill and also helps the Maestro's own Severe Rainstorm damage. It does have a high SP cost however, so perhaps only use it when it makes the difference between one-shotting and two-shotting monsters (or two vs. three) for you or your party members. Improve Concentration helps damage a lot since it increases both your DEX and AGI. Magic Strings is crucial for supporting and is very useful. Music Lessons and Voice Lessons should both be maxed for support purposes of course.
Elven Bow with Elven Arrows is the strongest weapon combo for Severe Rainstorm. Previously it was the Orc Archer Bow with Steel Arrows combo before Elven Arrows were released (this is still the strongest Bow/Arrow combo for Shadow Chasers who copy Severe Rainstorm or other bow skills as they cannot equip Elven Bow). The appropriate elemental converters or endow from a Sage class helps damage a lot. Phen Card, Bloody Butterfly Card, or Orleans's Gown is required when targeting monsters or else the attack can be interrupted if the Maestro is attacked by the monster halfway. Porcellio Card can help damage as well, although some may prefer Pecopeco Card for the extra HP. Upgraded Heroic Backpack with DEX at 90+ will give a nice damage boost as well; Nidhoggur's Shadow Garb is also nice for elemental resists and SP leech. Rideword Hat is great for recovering SP, but if the party has a Sorcerer for SP, damage enhancing headgears such as Evil Marching Hat, Gozarian Mask + Witch's Pumpkin Hat combo, or even the Maestro Song's Hat from the Maestro job change can be considered as well. Well-Chewed Pencil or Pirate Dagger are good choices for lower headgear. Slotted Bow Thimble with Zerom Card will also help with damage. Bloodied Shackled Ball + Shackles may be considered as well for damage but can be heavy.
Green Whistle is a good instrument choice for supporting, as a Maestro can instant cast Windmill Rush with it. Supporting does not require an awful lot of gear, but tank oriented gears tend to be good choices. Staying alive longer or taking less damage is always a good thing for your party. Reduction gears / cards such as Raydric Card or Racial Reduction shield cards are useful. HP cards or gears such as Variant Shoes and Pecopeco Card are nice too. Pecopeco Hairband or other movement increasing gear can be useful if the party's Arch Bishop is not good at keeping Increase Agility up, or if monsters use skills that cancel it like Quagmire. Appropriate elemental armors (fire, water, wind, etc.) are needed at certain maps or when battling certain MVPs.
