An elite group of Assassins. The Assassin Cross utilizes stealth and confusion in order to land the perfect killing blow. The Assassin Cross has a huge repertoire of lethal arts including ultimate mastery of poison-use, better than the original Assassin. With these new skills, the Assassin Cross now has a wide choice of brutal methods to overcome opponents. All without ever leaving the shadows...

Job Change Guide

To become a Assassin Cross, you must find a book called 'the Book of Ymir' in 'Sage Castle', Juno. The book will lead you to Valhalla so you can change your job through the Assassin Cross Job NPC. Also you must reach Job Level 50 as a Transcendent 1st class character.

1. 'Sage Castle' is located at 11 o'clock direction juno88320 in Juno. 2. 'Book of Ymir' is located inside a room behind an NPC called 'Metheus Sylphe' juno_in0288164.
3. 'Book of Ymir' juno_in0294206 will teleport you to Valhalla. 4. Find and talk to the Job NPC suited to your 2nd class.

See Guillotine Cross Builds for build strategies to work towards. See Assassin Builds for leveling strategies for just the Assassin Cross leveling stages. Leveling an Assassin Cross is similar to a regular pre-trans Assassin, but with a few new skill additions.

New Skills Overview:

Enchant Deadly Poison is an extremely powerful buff that enhances most of an Assassin Cross's or even a Guillotine Cross's attacks. This buff is also primarily the reason why Assassin Cross and Guillotine Cross classes are one of the few classes that are effective using ctrl-click rather than skill spamming.

Create Deadly Poison is a requirement for Enchant Deadly Poison. Some serious players will create an alt character purely for the purpose of brewing poison bottles, with specialized brewing stats.

Meteor Assault is a melee AoE skill that requires a Phen Card or another gear with a similar effect in order not to be interrupted. Most Guillotine Crosses opt to use only Rolling Cutter in the third class stage.

Advanced Katar Mastery boosts Katar damage even further.

Soul Destroyer is a ranged physical damage skill.

Equipment

Eden Group Equipments Quests

Most transcendent characters will have already completed some Eden Equipment quests already and can reuse the equipment. If the character has not done the quest yet, they can do it as a transcendent character as well. The Katar is a good weapon and generally a good choice for an Assassin and their future classes' use.

Third Class Compatible Equipment

Main article: Guillotine Cross Equipment

It is recommended to look at the Equipment recommendations for the Third Class job to see what equipment to strive for, rather than to spend a lot of money on a piece of equipment that will not be used in the future as a third class. However, some equipment may have a high level requirement, or are transcendent only.

Weapons

After considering what requirement skills have (some skills can only be used with certain weapon types), the Weapon Search tool within the iRO Wiki DB site is very helpful. Generally, for physical classes (both melee and ranged), something with high ATK is best. For magic classes, something with high MATK is best.

A easy way to greatly enhance DPS on a katar is to use Chick Hat or using a Sidewinder Card. This will make your katar proc Double Attack at a 50% chance.

Some weapons that couldn't be used as Assassin and can be used by Assassin Cross are:

One of the main differences of this weapons comparing to the Assassin weapons are the daggers. The strongest 3 slotted dagger is Scalpel instead of Gladius, and the strongest 4 slotted dagger is Sandstorm instead of Main Gauche.

  • 2336.png Thief Clothes [1] Extremely light, but limited to the Thief class and rare. Think carefully before compounding a pair of these with a useful card. (+6 DEF, +1 AGI, 10 weight)
  • 2315.png Chain Mail [1] Very heavy but gives more DEF than Thief Clothes and are quite common. (+8 DEF, 330 weight). Since Assassins usually get high STR, thus having large weight limit, this is the most common choice of armor.
  • 2308.png Mantle [1] / 2320.png Formal Suit [1] / 2302.png Cotton Shirt [1] / 2310.png Coat [1] Useful for different elemental armor, so they are all on different hotkeys. Mink Coats can also be used but they are very heavy.
  • 2339.png Pantie or 2371.png Pantie [1] Cheap and can do a good combo with Undershirt.

For 40~120 seconds, multiply Weapon ATK by 2.8~4 and Equipment ATK by 2.8~4. Has a chance of causing deadly poison status on each attack. Consumes one Poison Bottle. 5 Supportive
Meteor Assault
Attack all enemies within 2 cells in any direction around the caster for ATK * 3.2~14 with 10~55% chance of inflicting Stun, Blind or Bleeding status. Cast is interruptable. Not affected by Enchant Deadly Poison. 10 Offensive
Soul Destroyer
Ranged physical damage that deals ATK * 1.5~15 damage. 10 Offensive
